FUSF has exercise physiology (EP) services to assist all those who are struggling with health conditions to receive the expert assistance and manage their condition using exercise. According to ESSA (Exercise Sports Science Australia) EPs are university qualified allied health professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.
Pathology domains covered by the services of AEPs include cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, cancers, kidney, respiratory / pulmonary and mental health, and any other conditions for which there is evidence that exercise can improve the client’s clinical status.
Conditions We Treat
The exercise physiologist (EP) is qualified to assist clients with the management of medical conditions such as;
- Type 2 diabetes
- Type 1 diabetes
- Ischaemic heart disease
- Osteoporosis
- Obesity
- Depression
- Osteoarthritis
- Chronic fatigue
- Stress related mental illnesses
- Cancer
- COPD
These sessions can be accessed through extras from your health provider, privately, or through your *GP under a care plan.
